I stopped doing my annual bucket list a few year ago and I’ve really missed it so for 2015 I am bringing back that tradition. A bucket list is like a resolutions list writ large. It’s everything I want to do in my life, big or small. Visit Japan – put it on the list. Learn how to make a pizza crust from scratch – put it on the list. And everything in between. I can usually come up with 40 items for my list and each year I knock off about 4 of them. It doesn’t sound like much until you consider that means I achieved four life goals every year, and that every decade I roll over my entire list (except the big travel items.) (But I’m working on those.)
I keep copies of old lists and in 2014 I cleared off a whack of items. I not only published books, I published a series, and print books. I visited a movie studio. I started a garden. 2014 rocked!
For this coming year, I’m starting fresh. I’m not transferring old goals over thoughtlessly; if I can’t remember old goals, they obviously aren’t that important to my current life. I’m not going to publish them but I might make note here when I’ve knocked something off my list.
Some things will be beyond our control – families, health, jobs. May you be able to roll with them throughout the year. Because of that, I hope you celebrate each and every success no matter how small. Life is all about the battles. May you be victorious in 2015!
