Technically the last day of summer was a week and a half ago but I think that all of September usually qualifies. Counting that way also gave me a couple extra days to get through a few more books in my TBR (to be read) pile.
Shelly Laurenston: Beast Behaving Badly. I finally got a my own copy of BBB after originally borrowing it from the library and can I just tell you that the two pages that were missing from the library copy COMPLETELY CHANGED THE PLOT AND THE HEROINE’S CHARACTERIZATION. So, as much as I enjoyed it the first time round, reading the whole story was an even better experience. SL’s books are the funniest romances that I’ve ever found and I adore the fact that her characters laugh as well as they love.
Danica Winters: The Nymph’s Labyrinth. I’ve known Danica for a while and I love her stuff. This book is killing me – I can’t finish it fast enough. I’m only at the 35% mark but I had to include it as part of my summer reads. I am loving the Greek setting, the twists on mythology, and the really hot archaeologist!
Shelley K. Wall: Numbers Never Lie. Shelly is a new-to-me writer but I had to buy this book because it has one of my favourite tropes ever – undercover agents! She did a good job with both the romantic and suspenseful halves of this contemporary romantic-suspense. I’m looking forward to another book from her.
J.R. Ward: Lover At Last. I was a little apprehensive about this book because I’d read reviews that knocked the fact that it had so many storylines in it. I shouldn’t have waited; I really enjoyed them all. Besides, it’s taken twelve books for Qhuinn and Blaylock to get their happy ending – I wasn’t going to stop reading now!
Emily Ryan-Davis: Dragon’s Woman (boxed set). Who doesn’t love dragons? Everybody should have a friend who writes them. And these are sexy dragons. I read this boxed set much too quickly because I wanted to see what happened plot-wise. Now I have to re-read it so I can enjoy all the smokin’ hot scenes in detail. Double win!
