Harvest is ended and summer is gone. That’s not entirely true. I still have tomatoes on the vine and the farmers market is in full swing. But vacation days are definitely ended and the scorching days of summer are only a memory now no matter how nice the autumn days are.As such, I am preparing for my annual hibernation. I have started the fall prep work on my yard. I’ve started buying DVDs in anticipation for a long winter (although I’m through all of the Season 1 and half of Season 2 DVDs of “Numb3rs” I bought on the weekend – love that show! Fortunately, I have hours of stuff I haven’t seen yet.) Finally, I’m loading up on books, both paperback and Kindle.
This is what I have so far. It’s pretty heavy on the romance, but I’m a romantic – with a side of action:
Archangel’s Storm – Nalini Singh (because both her series are amazing and you should read them)
Archangel’s Blade – Nalini Singh (I read this when it came out last year but didn’t own a copy. Now I do)
Hollywood Scandals #1/Hollywood Secrets #2/Hollywood Confessions #3 – Gemma Halliday (I loved her High Heels series, and these were on sale)
Curse of the Wolf – Danica Winters (a friend of mine)
Dragon’s Woman – Emily Ryan-Davis (a fellow Romance Diva)
Mike Hammer Omnibus #1/#2/#3 by Mickey Spillane (because you can never have too much hard boiled detective)
The Scarlett Letter – Nathaniel Hawthorne (book club)
The King of Plagues – Jonathon Maberry (great action)
Scarecrow Returns – Matthew Reilly (even better action – my favourite action writer!)
The Woman Who Died A Lot – Jasper Fforde (have you met Thursday Next? Let me introduce you)
Playing to Win – Jaci Burton (trying someone new)
Nothing but Trouble – Rachel Gibson (trying another new author)
Northanger Abbey – Jane Austen (my last Jane book)
That should get me through September, don’t you think? I’m very much looking forward to travelling this year with my Kindle. All the books, 1/100th of the space in the suitcase.
